The Doc Fritchey Chapter of Trout Unlimited will hold a 6-week evening course on intermediate fly-tying at the Olewine Nature Center. The class will be conducted on 6 consecutive Thursday evenings beginning on February 12 and ending on March 19. This is an intermediate course and is intended for anyone who is familiar with entry-level tying techniques. This year, the patterns will feature the tying of dry flies, as this focus has been requested the last few years, and these patterns are typically only lightly covered in most beginner courses. Everyone must provide their own tools. Materials for all flies will be provided at each class. Participants must be 14 years old, those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Space is limited. More information will be sent upon registration. Pre-registration required. Registration will close on Monday, February 9, 2026. This course is part of our new Adventure Awaits series sponsored by UPMC. To learn about other Fly-Tying classes offered by Trout Unlimited, please visit dftu.org.
