Did you ever wonder how people think of new inventions? Where did the idea for helicopters and wind turbines come from? Or, kites, camo wear or Velcro for our sneakers? Well, many ideas and designs come from nature! This is called biomimicry! During this program we will explore the connections between nature, designs and inventions, try some simple experiments and take a short walk to examine the many shapes, colors and structures found in wild plants and animals. Then, we will use our imaginations to create a take-home craft based on what we discussed and observed! Registrants must be accompanied by a chaperone for the duration of the program. A maximum of one chaperone per child is permitted. Space is limited. Pre-registration required.
