Debbie Naha-Koretzky (aka Wild Edibles Lady) received her master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition from New York University. She is a Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist, a Certified Rutgers Master Gardener, a Pennsylvania Master Naturalist, and the author of Foraging Pennsylvania and New Jersey (2021, Falcon Guides). As a nutritionist she has always been most interested in wild plants: What’s out there that is food for our species? What is the nutritional value of wild food? How do we identify, safely forage and prepare those foods? Her advanced training in nutrition provides a unique approach to appreciating wild foods. John Truman has been involved in the maple syrup industry for the last 25 years since he started assisting on his family maple business called Tybuk Farm Maple Syrup in Tioga County. The farm is 130 acres, and he normally places around 2100 taps a season. Last year the farm produced over 500 gallons of maple syrup. John’s wife Karen started learning the trade after their marriage 7 years ago. John and Karen have now taken over the family business and they look forward to sharing their knowledge with you.
