Dauphin County Parks and Recreation Summer Intern: this is an approximate 10 week paid position.
We are looking for a creative, enthusiastic intern to assist with outdoor environmental education programs for school-aged children. The intern will gain valuable experiences including learning natural history, how to lead outdoor activities, general nature center and park operations, and other projects of interest. Successful candidates should have a strong desire to be outdoors and share their knowledge of and enthusiasm for the natural world with others. A background in education or the natural sciences is strongly encouraged.
- Currently earning or possessing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Environmental Education, Environmental Science, Education, Parks and Recreation, Biology and/or related fields.
- Strong interest in education, the environment and natural history
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Ability to work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions
